Monday

BOOK (Babies On Our Knees) Story Time , 10:30am at the Cañon City Public Library, 516 Macon Ave. For moms and their children 0-24 months.

Tuesday 

Preschool Story Hour at Penrose Community Library at 35 7th Avenue in Penrose. Every Tuesday at 10:00am.

Story Time and Crafts for preschoolers at the Cañon City Public Library, 516 Macon Avenue, 10:30-11:30am every Tuesday and Thursday. Different stories and crafts each day.

Bridge Youth Center is open and free for 7th-12th grade students every Tuesday, 3:30-6pm at 310 Main St. in Cañon City.

The Pantry Of Fremont Distribution, 4:00-6:00pm. 629 Harrison Ave in Cañon City (basement of the Royal Gorge Vineyard Church). Each household is welcome to two large distributions per month and perishables, as available, any other day of operation. For questions, call (719) 458-9258.

Open Night at VFW Post #4061, 4:00-8:00pm at 215 Cottonwood Ave in Cañon City. The bar will be open and the public is welcome! Most drinks are $3.50.

NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) Florence meeting – 6:30pm every Thursday at the Florence Chamber of Commerce, 116 N Pikes Peak Ave. This is a free and confidential peer support program for adults living with a mental illness.

Friday

NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) Canon City meeting – 1:00pm every Friday at St Thomas More Hospital, 1338 Phay Ave. This is a free and confidential peer support program for adults living with a mental illness.

Kids C.A.P. (Community Art Program) is a FREE drop-in class (donations are encouraged) for kids of all ages every Saturday afternoon at FCA from 12:00-2:00pm. Every week a new art theme will be explored with our wonderful teacher, India Beach. Kids 5 & under require adult supervision. Sponsored by Southern Colorado Community Foundation. VFW All-You-Can-Eat Breakfast – Every Sunday from 8:00-10:30AM at VFW Post #4061, 215 Cottonwood Ave in Cañon City. $7 per person; Children 8-12 – $4; Children 8 years and under are FREE!!!

Royal Gorge Amateur Radio Club, 6:00pm at the United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall, 9th & Macon in Cañon City.

1st Friday

First Friday Dance, 6:00-9:00pm at the Golden Age Center, 728 Main Street in Cañon City. Join us at the Golden Age Center, on the first Friday of every month, for music, dancing and friends. $2.00 per person. Writers Among Us, 10:15am at the Cañon City Public Library, 516 Macon Avenue in Cañon City. Yes, you too can write. In a writer’s world, we’re all just beginners.

2nd Thursday 

Royal Gorge Detachment of the Marine Corps League at the Cañon City Elks Lodge at 404 Macon Avenue. Social hour starts at 6:00, meeting starts at 7:00. All branches of the service are welcome to join our league! Call (719) 431-2687 for more information.

2nd Friday
