Elf on a Shelf-Fremont County Style

WHAT: Elf on a Shelf is a fun scavenger hunt-type game that spotlights local Fremont County small businesses and gives players lots of chances to win great prizes. Almost FIFTY players have won prizes already and there’s still lots of time left to play, so it’s definitely not to late to get in on the elfin’ fun!!! FCA’s Holiday Market

WHAT: Get some of your Christmas shopping donewith nearly 20 local artists and crafters! Their tables will be beautifully displayed with amazing gifts for all your friends, family and loved ones! Gifts for all ages!

WHEN: December 3-18 (opening reception on December 3)

It’s a Wrap!

WHAT: It’s a Wrap is a holiday gift wrapping service benefitting the Starpoint consumers. Click HERE to view the flyer.
WHERE: Drop gifts off at Fremont Center for the Arts, 505 Macon Avenue in Cañon City. Pick gifts up at Starpoint, 700 S. 8th Street in Cañon City.
WHEN: The Starpoint wrappers will be on-site at the Fremont Center for the Arts (FCA) on December 10 and 11, but you can drop your gifts off at the FCA during normal business hours – Tuesday-Saturday, 10am-4pm – any time between December 4 and 18. 

Farm Holiday Market

WHAT: Several local artists will be available to assist you with your holiday shopping!
WHERE: In The Lavender Farm’s Historic Barn, 340 Grand Avenue in Cañon City

4-H Holiday Craft Fair

WHAT: Support a great cause and do some holiday shopping at the 4-H Holiday Craft Fair. Over 30 vendors plus an all-you-can eat soup meal will be available for $8. Click HERE for additional information.

Cañon City’s Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony

WHAT: Cañon City’s  Mayor, Ashley Smith, Cañon City Mayor, will be turning on the Christmas Tree lights at Depot Park. Complimentary coffee, hot chocolate, and cookies will be available, courtesy of Chris Brady and Tim and Emmy Dennehy. There will also be a snowball fight area set up with our fake plush snowballs.

Keep Christ in Christmas Program

Holiday Tag Sale

WHAT: The Boys & Girls Club of Fremont County is cleaning out the Club and hosting a tag sale on S. Come support the Club and find some treasures! We’ll be selling hot chocolate & freshly baked cookies to shoppers. Items for sale include toys, books, crafting supplies, computers, home décor and more. We’re also accepting donations of items for us to sell. Cash, check, and card accepted ($10 minimum on cards).

Holiday Sing-a-Long

WHAT: A community sing-a-long and entertainment event. We will be singing carols and seasonal music. Hot chocolate will be available at the concession stand. Cost of admission is one non-perishable food item or a donation to the Rialto theater.

Vintage Christmas Market & Evening Shopping in Florence

Saturdays with Santa

WHAT: Santa and Mrs. Claus will be on hand for story time and photos. This is a free event. You are welcome to bring your child and a camera/cell phone to take photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus in our beautiful Carnegie Library.

32nd Annual Chamber of Commerce Christmas Parade of Lights

WHAT: The theme for this year’s Parade of Lights in Cañon City is “Bright Lights and Christmas Delights.”
WHERE: Historic Downtown Cañon City
WHEN: December 4 starting at 6pm.

Holiday Children’s Theatre Performances

WHAT: The Fremont Civic Theatre Presents: 2021 Holiday Children’s Theatre performances. We are featuring 3 beloved short stories this year. “The Velveteen Rabbit,” “Sarah Finds Christmas,” and “The Sole of Christmas.” Tickets are $12 for Adults and $10 for Students/Seniors. Children 5 and under are FREE. Tickets are available at City Market and Absolute Accounting in Canon City, and Big D’s in Florence. Click HHERE to view the flyer.

Living Nativity

WHAT: Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church will continue its traditional portrayal of the birth of Christ as a Living Nativity scene.  This is the 23rd anniversary of the event. Visiting the Living Nativity has become a tradition for many viewers from Fremont County and beyond. Everyone is invited to join in the tradition at 801 Sheridan Avenue to help celebrate the Christmas season. Donations of non-perishable food items and cash will be accepted on behalf of Loaves & Fishes Ministries. Upon arriving at the church, visitors may either drive through and observe from their vehicles or park their vehicles on the east side of Sheridan or in the church parking lot and walk along the display and reflect as the story is told through Bible readings and music. Organizers request that visitors not in the the same households observe social distancing guidelines.
WHERE: Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, 801 N. Sheridan in Cañon City. The church is the last building on the left on Sheridan. To drive to the Nativity, go north on 15th Street, turn left onto Woodlawn Avenue and at the second stop sign turn right onto Sheridan. Or, go north on Ninth Street, turn right onto College and then turn left onto Sheridan (one block past the high school).
WHEN: Friday and Saturday, December 10th and 11th, from 5 to 7:30 p.m.

Florence Band Craft Fair

WHAT: Over 30 vendors will be participating in this craft fair. Homemade soup and other concessions will be available. All proceeds will support the Florence Band. Click HERE to see the flyer.
