First Stitches Sewing Store and Quilt Shops are locally owned and operated in Southern Colorado, offering sewing classes and qualified sewing machine sales and service.
In 2011, Kimberly Smith purchased four Baby Lock sewing machines and traveled to various locations, teaching beginner sewing lessons to individuals of all ages. Recognizing the community’s need for a sewing center and repair shop, she decided to sell Janome Sewing Machines in a small space in the back of a bookstore in Cañon City, Colorado and offered machine repair and maintenance. Soon she moved her store into the “Little Brick House” on S. 4th Street and expanded to carry Baby Lock and Brother sewing machines.
First Stitches carries high quality fabrics and notions, sewing and embroidery machines, and crafting supplies.
