Yarned & Dangerous isn’t JUST a store with a cute name, it is also a close knit community of fiber artists woven together by store owner, Ann Goldman.
In 2012, Ann, a local fiber artist, decided to go into business for herself. She discovered a Christian book store was for sale, which to her excitement, shared space with a yarn store. This sealed the deal and she purchased the book store. In 2013, Ann purchased the yarn shop when it went up for sale. In 2017 when the lease on her original space expired, Ann moved to a nearby location and the shop became exclusively a yarn shop. This is how Yarned & Dangerous was born.
When Ann discovered knitting, it quickly became her passion and that passion inspired her to create a community at Yarned & Dangerous, a safe place where friends can be found and frustrations can be stitched away in a cozy environment. Ann’s welcoming and kind nature is treasured by her customers. Since Yarned & Dangerous is the only store of its kind south of
Colorado Springs, Ann’s customers come from all over the southern part of Colorado and beyond!
Yarned & Dangerous is described by other customers as “the most kind and friendly place I have ever been to”, “a jewel in the community” and as “a business that cares and has fun”.
Yarned & Dangerous is proud to offer classes for a variety of crafts and skill levels and customers are always welcome to come into the store for guidance. Ann encourages customers to practice their favorite crafts together in her store’s sitting area outside of classes as well.
In addition to creating a community of friendly fiber artists of a variety of ages, Ann ensures that the store carries unique goods that cannot be found in chain craft stores to help her fiber fanatics have access to the supplies they need to perfect their projects.
Whether it’s your first or fiftieth trip to Yarned & Dangerous, there is always something new to discover, whether it is a new friendly face or a limited run of locally dyed yarn. Yarned & Dangerous has recently moved to a wonderful new and spacious location at 301 Main Street in Cañon City. Look for the frolicking sheep on the front of the building!
Store hours: Tuesday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
