Dark Side of the Abbey/Dark Side Unplugged

WHAT: Dark Side of the Abbey is Southern Colorado most naturally nightmareish haunt. Both scary and entertaining, with two separate haunting experiences, your entire group will be talking about how great of a time they had for months. Also available are two separate Escape Room experiences.

Aftermath Haunted House

WHAT: Come out to one of the top haunted houses in Colorado! All new, and scarier than ever! As always proceeds from Aftermath benefits programs with the Canon City Area Parks and Recreation! **We will have proper Covid-19 precautions in place. Social Distancing, Masks, and Hand Sanitizer will be required, with that said…Nothing will stop Aftermath from continuing to be one of the top haunts in Colorado!

Pumpkins in the Plaza

WHAT: Pumpkin Patch Story Time, pumpkin painting, costume contest for kids and pets. Apple cider and snacks will be provided. Physical distancing protocols will be followed. Boo at the Bridge

WHAT: Spend a frightfully fun night with the whole family at the Royal Gorge Bridge & Park. Costumes are highly encouraged!  ‘Mummies’ and Daddies can bring their little Ghosts and Goblins to Boo at the Bridge for a safe and fun Halloween treat. All will have a ‘Spooktacular’ experience gathering goodies because you don’t often get the chance to cross the highest suspension bridge in America after hours! It will be a Treat to have you here!

Halloween at Florence Brewing Co.

WHAT: Stop by the Florence Brewing Company to enjoy wonderful beers while meeting some interesting ambassador animals such as an owl, vulture, snake, tarantula, and scorpion! Nature’s Ed will be collecting donations to help care for their ambassador animals! Social distancing will be enforced and masks must be worn. Hope to see you there!

Boos & Ghouls Halloween

WHAT: Join us outdoors in our parking lot at the 4th Street Teen Club for trick-or-treating, games, and fun! Youth ages 18 and under (and their families!) are welcome to attend. Costumes and masks are highly welcomed. Social distancing and proper safety precautions will be practiced. Family groups will follow a one-way path through the event, stopping briefly at 7 stations, including a photo station. Youth must bring their own bag/bucket for items given out. Families may only go through the stations once. This event is FREE!

A Spooky Circus Extravaganza – Coaldale

WHAT: A Halloween-themed performance by Salida Circus

Spooktacular and Trunk or Treat

WHAT: DOC employees, first responders, and many others will hand out candy to families proceeding through the drive while REMAINING IN THEIR VEHICLES. All vehicles will enter South Street off of Field Avenue, follow the traffic flow, and exit back onto Field Avenue. All participating vendors will wear masks and gloves and distribute pre-packaged zip bags of candy to the vehicles. Information about the costume contest will be available soon.

Zombie Bar Crawl

WHAT: 1st Annual Zombie Bar Crawl involves 4 of the downtown bars in an effort to benefit the Fremont Community Foundation to help the Operation Grinch event this year. All proceeds from tickets sold will be donated to FCF. Ticket includes your 1st wine/well or domestic free! Of course COVID-19 restrictions are in place. You can start and end at any of the locations and costume contests will be held at each location at different times so you will have time to attend all of them.

5th Annual Stomp & Chomp

WHAT: It’s that time of year again – time for stomping and chomping. We are limited to offering 100 children’s tickets, good for pumpkin picking, candy bags, and our costume contest! Kid’s tickets are available on a first come-first serve basis until they are sold out. Kid’s tickets include access to our Dino Wild Walk, picking one pumpkin to keep, a bag of candy, and entry into our costume contest at 3:30 PM with trophies and prizes. Adult tickets include access to the Dino Wild Walk to accompany their children for pumpkin picking and the costume contest. We are also planning to hide Halloween trinkets in our dig pit and offer a photo ops with our baby T-rex! Come join the fun! (In the event of inclement weather, we will move the pumpkin picking and costume contest inside our museum, and so tickets will gain entry to that instead of the Wild Walk.)
