Abandoned, surrendered, sick, injured, pregnant felines, and lots of kittens without homes is what JJ’s helping Paws has been dealing with recently in Fremont County!

Although this non-profit has seen in the past a fair number of displaced felines, now, and due to COVID-19, these numbers have increased severely. Burnt paws, eye infections, diabetes, malnourishment, and other conditions are frequently present when rescuing these animals. We take care of these animals, feed them, foster them, provide medical assistance, medications, and finally take them to reputable rescues so they can eventually find the homes they so desperately need.

Besides helping these displaced animals, we continue with our TNR program, trap, neuter, vaccinate and return of community cats (feral) to the area where they live.  Also, we have had 2 FREE spay/neuter clinics this year for household cats. With these two programs, JJs Helping Paws has done a total of 831 procedures to help these animals in Fremont County, and provided 1618 vaccinations.

Our Uber Kitty Program has transported over 400 cats and kittens so far this year to our rescue partners located throughout Colorado where they are adopted into loving homes.   Many of these felines were found through our TNR program. We still continue with our Voucher Sales for owners of cats and dogs, now by appointment rather than at Tractor Supply due to COVID-19. Other programs run by JJ’s Helping Paws: Pit bull low-cost spay/neuter program, Outreach Program, Feral Food bank, and Pet Pantry.

JJs Helping Paws is run entirely by volunteers, and our fosters are the crown jewel of our organization,; they work tirelessly for the wellbeing of these precious animals.

We are a 501(c)(3) non- profit organization run completely by volunteers. We depend on grants, not as available during these trying times, and we depend on kind donations from the general public to help these animals.

We cannot do it alone!   We need your support to help pay for veterinary bills, medication, food, litter, and anything else that comes up to safeguard the lives of these animals.  Any amount will help!

To donate you can visit our website www.jjshelpingpaws.org  and go to the donation page.  You can also mail a check to JJ’s Helping Paws, 1501 Main St. PO Box #3, Cañon City CO 81215.  Thank you for your support!
