Selah Mountain Ranch was founded by Dale and Kimberly Nuss in 2018. As a therapeutic foster family who have fostered over 20 children and adopted many, they saw firsthand the needs of at-risk foster youth in Colorado. Selah (which means to pause or rest) Mountain Ranch was founded when 74 acres of land in Fremont County were purchased to support animal therapies, art programs, 4H, and other therapeutic programs.

The Ranch is a support to local foster families and their children, foster youth aging out of the system, and unaccompanied refugee minors. Selah Mountain Ranch was established to give all at-risk foster youth a place for restoration and healing.

Selah Mountain Thrift Store opened its doors in March, 2019 in a wonderful historic building in downtown Florence, Colorado, with the goal of supporting the efforts at Selah Mountain Ranch. The store sells gently-used clothing, home Image may contain: 1 person, smiling, standing and outdoorgoods, shoes, coats, and more. Selah Mountain Thrift Store is 100% donation-based, tax deductible, and accepts donations by pick-up and drop-off.

Some of the programs that the Nuss family hopes to offer to foster children and families through the Selah Mountain Ranch are:
