The Hive in Downtown Cañon City is proud to announce the first of many artistic collaborations with Fremont Center for the Arts by hosting the Blossom Festival “April Showers Bring May Flowers” Show on May 7, 2021.

The show, which will be hung throughout The Hive, will feature works from The Center’s Blossom Collection, which has been curated over the history of The Blossom Festival’s shows. This show, which coincides with Cañon City’s “First Friday” celebration, will be an opportunity for the FCA to highlight 74 years of collected Blossom Festival Art.

Becki Logsdon, co-owner and manager of The Hive, hopes this show will be the first of many collaborations with FCA. “We always want the Cañon City community to come and gather with us at The Hive. Providing the opportunity to celebrate Blossom Festival and the beautiful art in FCA’s collection seems like the perfect opportunity for us. I hope this becomes a regular event.”

Kevin Cundiff, Executive Director of FCA, believes that Cañon City can only benefit from these collaborations and looks forward to more in the future. “I’m always looking for opportunities to partner with other businesses and nonprofits in the community. Art in Fremont County is alive and well and I want people to be able to do and enjoy it.”

The Hive’s show, which opens at 5:00 pm on May 7th, will also feature gourmet food prepared by Fremont Provisions Executive Chef, Taylor Miller.

“We want everyone in Cañon City to join us on Main Street on Friday the seventh, to enjoy beautiful art, delicious food, and to celebrate Blossom Festival. It’s time for us all to be together again,” said Logsdon.
